When deciding on another challenge, I thought I needed to go that extra mile, in fact 1000 miles!
My 1000 Mile Challenge commences with the Virgin London Marathon 2010. Then throughout the following year, I intend to keep on running! I aim to complete this mammoth challenge crossing the finishing line in the Virgin London Marathon 2011.
1000 miles equates to over 38 marathons. This will push my body and mind to the limit, week in, week out. I will need to clock-up on average 20 miles per week and I’m under no illusions that for me, already suffering the effects of arthritis damage to my knees, it is going to be tough.
After proclaiming myself as the ‘Lupus Runner’, I see this as an ideal opportunity to continue my fundraising and awareness activities for Lupus. I have really enjoyed training, albeit finding it very hard and painful at times.
Be All You Can Be.

It’s definitely a mammoth challenge but equally an amazing cause and as The Lupus Runner I know you’ll do everyone proud!
Good luck to you and Kate and everyone else running on Sunday too. Me and Beki will be following your progress along the way, wishing we could be there to cheer you along!
Speak to you soon.
